BIO

Marco Castro is an American (Peruvian born)
film director, writer and photographer that started his career at a very young age, performing, acting and taking pictures. At the age of 18 he started working as a make up artist with François Nars, and collaborating with world known photographers such as Nan Goldin, Brigitte Lacombe, David Lachapelle, Elaine Constantine, to name a few with whom he learned the importance of storytelling through images.In the year 2000 he moved to Madrid, Spain, were he continued pursuing his film career and started working as a regular for El Deseo production company. Little by little he starts creating, producing and directing a number of short films,video art installations and photographs that have been displayed in many different art galleries,film festivals and museums, in 2005 he meets Loles Leon (actress know for her work in many of Pedro Almodóvar's films) with whom they founded Emperactriz Films and produced his film "Manuela". In the year 2006 Marco collaborated in the 'iAlmodóvar Exhibition!' for La Cinémathèque française.He now lives in Brooklyn New York where he's working on the pre-production of his first length feature film, directing films and music videos.
